CIA: What's Your Genius

Page history last edited by Linda Dextre 9 years, 10 months ago

It's almost over!

As we close up these last few days of enrichment in CIA, I wanted to share some ideas for you to use in your projects next year.

You'll be at the top of your game next year when you add these tools to your projects.

  •  Go to the digital resources page on the media site.
  • Select NetTrekker
  • Write down your userID and password on the board.
  • Search for "Oceans and Pollution"
  • Observe the ratings system on the right, and the different resources listed.
  • Make observation notes on the Padlet

Teach Your Talent

What is your dream? Do you have intrinsic motivation? What can you do better than anyone?

In these next few weeks, you'll explore the possibilities!

Day One:

Introduction

Brainstorm session: What do you love to do? How can you learn more about it?

List all things that interest you.

In your small group, discuss why these are interesting to you.

Find one area of interest to explore. You can choose similar themes, but you need to have a variation on that theme. No two projects should be alike.

Day Two:

Ms. Johnson will divide you into groups.

Group one will go to the computer lab and log into IXL math.

Choose a math topic within your grade level and work for 20 minutes.

Groups two and three will explore print resources to begin finding a topic within their theme.

Write down facts and ideas, citing your sources as you use them (MLA formatting).

Day Three:

Group Two works on IXL within grade level options.

Groups one and three will use recommended resources to gather information about their topic.

Take notes. CIte your sources.

Day Four:

Watch Genius Hour link above.

What will you do with your information? How will you share your ideas?
